Who we are
Pack Weigh is run by Cam Henderson in New Zealand. Contact: cam@casocreative.com.
What we collect
- Your account: name, email address, password (stored scrambled, never readable), what you mainly pack for, and whether you use grams or ounces.
- Your gear and packs: everything you enter, including product links, weights, food nutrition and trip notes.
- Your profile: anything you add yourself, such as photos, an about me, experience level and social links.
- Usage: basic web logs, and analytics showing which screens get used.
What we do with it
Run the app for you, and nothing else. We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing you did not ask for.
What other people can see
Your gear and packs are private until you choose otherwise. If you share a pack by link, anyone with that link sees it. If you share a pack to Explore, any signed-in user sees it along with your profile. Your email address is never shown to other users. Taking a pack out of Explore or deleting it stops it appearing, although someone who already saved a copy keeps their copy.
Where it lives
On servers run by Railway, in the United States, with nightly backups. Barcode lookups go to Open Food Facts, and product links are fetched by our server when you paste one.
Your choices
- See or change anything: in the app, any time.
- Delete everything: Account tab, Delete my account. Your gear, packs and photos go for good.
- Ask for a copy: email us and we will send your data.
- Complain: to us first, and to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if we do not sort it out.
Children
Pack Weigh is not aimed at under 13s and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app.
